Estimados miembros de la Red,
les hago llegar el aviso que acabo de recibir de Jorge Kohanoff de la
Universidad de Belfast.
Cordiales saludos

Marie Skłodowska Curie PhD position at Queens' University Belfast
Applications are invited for a Marie Skłodowska Curie PhD position to
work in the area of theoretical and computational modelling of the
interplay between electron-electron and electron-phonon interactions
in nanostructures. Closing date: July 21st, 2017.
The studentship is part of a cohort of 20 PhDs students of the
Marie-Skłodowska-Curie-COFUND Actions recently awarded to Queen's
University Belfast (QUB).
The project will be co-supervised by Dr Tchavdar Todorov and Dr Myrta
Grüning from the School of Mathematics and Physics at QUB and will
explore the combination of many-body theory with a method for
correlated electron-ion dynamics, developed between QUB and
collaborators in London. The aim is to produce both a deeper
understanding and a working procedure for the simultaneous description
of e-e and e-phonon dynamics in single-particle methods such as the
Time-dependent Density Functional Theory and Hartree-Fock frameworks.
The project will also involve collaborations with partners at Imperial
College London, Leiden University (the Netherlands), University
College Irvine and Hunter College University New York (United States)
and at the Italian Research Council in Rome.
The applicant should have a university degree in physics, chemistry or
equivalent (minimum entry 2:1 Honour degree/equivalent).
Who can apply:
No restrictions on nationality. However, the applications should
follow the mobility criteria determined on Marie Skłodowska Curie
Actions work programme: the applicants shall not have resided or
carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country
of their host organization (the UK in this case) for more than 12
months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date.
Compulsory national service and/or short stays such as holidays are
not taken into account.
How to apply:
Interested applicants should complete an online application form,
available from the following website at
https://dap.qub.ac.uk/portal/user/u_login.php, providing an up-to-date
CV, a letter of motivation, and the names and contact details of at
least two academic referees.
Informal enquiries may be directed to Dr Tchavdar Todorov
(t.todorov en qub.ac.uk).
